Award of Courage – Acceptance Speech – People Profile Awards

Good evening, everyone.

Though I cannot be there in person tonight, please know that my heart is fully present with you in this moment.

To be honored with the Award of Courage is deeply humbling. Courage, to me, is not about being fearless, it’s about showing up despite the fear, standing tall in the face of pain, uncertainty, or adversity, and choosing to keep moving forward with purpose and love.

This award is not mine alone. It belongs to every person who stood beside me when I could barely stand for myself. It belongs to those who believed in my light, even in my darkest hour. And it belongs to every soul who dares to rise again, no matter how many times life tries to knock them down.

Courage is not always loud. Sometimes it’s a whisper, a quiet decision to try one more time, to speak your truth, to love yourself, or to forgive. My journey has been filled with battles, both seen and unseen. But with every challenge, I’ve discovered deeper strength, deeper faith, and a deeper commitment to being a vessel of impact and authenticity in this world.

To the People Profile Awards team, thank you for seeing me—truly seeing me. This recognition is a reminder that purpose leaves footprints, even when the path feels lonely.

To my incredible team—thank you for being more than just colleagues; you are family. To my children, my husband Ed Robinson, Althea, Marlon Burrell, Kevin Stew, Ryan Smith, and the entire Reggae Global Radio and Entertainment team: your unwavering support, love, and belief in me mean the world. I couldn’t do this without you, and I wouldn’t want to. This honor is as much yours as it is mine.

To anyone listening tonight who is facing your own mountain: don’t give up. Your story matters. Your voice matters. And your courage is more powerful than you know.

I accept this award with gratitude, with humility, and with renewed fire to continue being a miracle in motion.
